The annual Tree and Seed giveaway is taking place at The Courtenay Centre on Saturday 1st February from 10am – 1pm. The event is organised by Newton Abbot Seed Library and Newton Abbot CIC. Attendees will be able to take away free tree whips and seeds (subject to availability, limited numbers available), and find out more about the work of local ‘green’ organisations. Organisations attending the event include Stover Country Park, Newton Abbot Seed Library, Newton Abbot & District Cooperative Allotment Association, Green Futures, Action for Climate Teignbridge, Devon Wildlife Trust and The Woodland Trust.

Last year’s event proved to be very popular with hundreds of people taking away free trees, and participating in a variety of activities. Emily Farrell from Newton Abbot CIC commented that “we are excited to be hosting this event at The Courtenay Centre which has been organised by Newton Abbot Seed Library. We hope that people will come along to collect their free trees and seeds, learn more about the work of local organisations and enjoy free craft activities.
The Courtenay Centre café will be open throughout the event offering hot and cold drinks and light refreshments.
