Newton Abbot Community Interest Company (CIC) is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a £5,000 grant from Devon Community Foundation. The funding will support the ongoing delivery of The Base Youth Club, a weekly youth provision for primary‑aged children at The Buckland Centre.

The Base Youth Club provides a safe, welcoming and affordable space for children to enjoy free food, creative activities, sports and positive social experiences. Run by a dedicated team of CIC staff, the club plays an important role in supporting young people, building confidence and strengthening community connections in the Buckland area. The Club is open to children from the age of 7 to the end of year 6.

Emily Farrell, Business Manager said “We are incredibly grateful to Devon Community Foundation and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for this funding. The Base Youth Club makes a real difference to children and families in our community, and this grant will help us continue offering a safe, fun and supportive environment for local young people.”

The grant will contribute to staffing, activity resources and food provision, ensuring the club remains accessible to all local families.

The Base Youth Club is part of the CIC’s wider programme of community support delivered through The Buckland Centre and The Courtenay Centre. Newton Abbot CIC has worked for more than 15 years to strengthen community life, support residents and deliver projects that improve wellbeing across the town.
