Buckland Hub Celebrates National Lottery Grant
The Buckland Hub Project based at the Buckland Centre is celebrating a National Lottery grant of more than £300,000. The grant will enable the Project to continue to deliver advice and wellbeing support for the Buckland Community for a further five years.

The grant was secured by Newton Abbot Community Interest Company. The Project is a partnership between the CIC who manage the Buckland Centre, and the Buckland Support charity. The Project works closely with a number of local organisations including Teignbridge Citizens Advice, Teign Housing and the local Police. The Lottery funding will support the Tuesday Advice Hub at The Buckland Centre, as well as one-to-one support through home visits. The Project also provides a variety of groups at The Buckland Centre including a toddler group, exercise class and Friday Wellbeing Group.
Rosemary Whitbread, Chair of Buckland Support said “We are extremely pleased to have received this continued funding from the National Lottery Community Fund so that we can reach more people who need our help. Over the last 4 years, our Project has delivered advice and support to more than 400 local people and has achieved benefit awards of more than £150,000".
The Project is one of a number of community support activities provided by Newton Abbot CIC. Emily Farrell the CIC’s Business Manager commented that “we are thrilled that the National Lottery have recognised the impact of the first four years of the Buckland Hub Project, and have agreed to continue to support this work for a further five years. This continuation of this Project demonstrates our long-term commitment to supporting the local community”.
