Volunteering with us

We have many projects that we're involved with in Newton Abbot, and are always on the look out got volunteers to offer some help. If you're interested in any of our opportunities, feel free send us an email or complete a volunteer registration form and send to:  admin@newtonabbotcic.org.uk

Newton Abbot Gardening Volunteers

Our gardening team maintain spaces around Newton Abbot with the permission of the landowner. These include the open space under Penn Inn roundabout where our team has carried out extensive planting since completion of the flyover. The area has even won an Outstanding Award from the Royal Horticultural Society, thanks to the hard work from our volunteers.

Community Fridge Volunteers

The Newton Abbot Community Fridge is located at The Courtenay Centre in the centre of Newton Abbot. It's available to access by anyone, at any time of the day. We rely on our amazing team of volunteers to collect donations from shops around the local area and put away into the fridge. We also have some volunteers who do checks and tidy ups of the fridge area. We're always needing help, so if you're keen to help do your bit to prevent food waste and help our community, do get in touch!

Courtenay Centre Community Garden Volunteers

We're currently developing plans to introduce a community garden to Courtenay Centre where we hope to involve community groups and individuals to create thriving growing space, using the produce in our slow cooker sessions and to help keep the community fridge topped up. The project is in its very early stages but we'll be grateful if anyone wants to help in any way, from helping to prepare the ground, build planters, or get involved once gardening is underway.
